The official launch date was July of 2003 but the dream started several years prior to the official launch. John Stockton started with a vision to sell furniture to full-service distributors all over the country. After several years of research and putting everything he owned including his beautiful wife’s wedding ring on the line he purchased an ocean container sight unseen of salon chairs. John loaded up a borrowed small horse trailer and in his tiny Ford Ranger and traveled all over the Midwest selling chairs to distributors in St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. Before the container was even delivered all of the chairs were pre-sold and Stockton International was up and running. 

The company’s purpose was to offer something that was and still is affordable to Main Street while still being as natural as possible. Little did he know that Wall Street companies like L’Oreal ( Salon Centrix) and Beauty System Group (Cosmoprof and Sally Beauty) and SSG Salon Service Group were buying up all of their competition which meant that Salon Store’s customer base was going to shrink. Through hard work and determination and after several years of solid growth, the customer base was exhausted and the line was expanded into skin care equipment and hair dryers. In 2012 Salon Store started selling directly to the salon only offering gloves, caps, and highlighting foils. In 2014 John discovered Coveline Hair Color from Italy and brought it to the St.Louis Market along with Onesta Hair Care. Fast forward to 2017 they opened up the Festus Storefront, High Ridge storefront and purchased Professional Beauty Products making them a regional player. In 2018 the Independence store was reopened at the new location. 

In February 2019 Salon Store Became an All Nutrient hair care Distributor. Fulfilling the mission and dream to offer more natural hair care lines. 

As the Story continues through the hard work of many people we were able to open the Joplin Missouri Store front in August 2019! With more stores scheduled because we believe in what we sell we have purpose and we have a mission to provide the best Natural Hair care lines available.

In 2020 Babe Hair Extensions came into our family and the Cape store from opened in January 2023. 

Our Company mission Statement is FAITH, FAMILY, FUN with our purpose is to offer professional lines of natural hair care products through our partner relationships and our direct private label goods!  We offer products that your clients CAN NOT find at JC Penny, Walmart. Target, Walgreen’s or any other major retailer. We want to bring the business back once again to main street.
